“Little Italy” Community Garden is underway

Skills Society is happy to have received support from the Neighbourhood Revitalization Matching Fund to build a community garden in the Little Italy area of the McCauley neighbourhood, just south of The Works office on 95th Street.

This year, Skills Society is providing stewardship and person-power to build the first bank of raised beds. We built the first four beds in August, and next year we’ll invite the citizens of McCauley to help us build a second bank of 15 beds. By the third year we hope to see the garden in full bloom. The McCauley Community League is excited to support the project.

We can’t wait to beautify this large corner of Little Italy — but we need your help, since the grant will only go so far. We gratefully accept your kind donations of relevant goods, labour, or cash.

Follow the Little Italy Community Garden on Facebook to view photos and to receive notifications about upcoming build dates and other important information.
