Making our Mark

Artists, U of A anthropology students and Skills Society support workers exploring themes of citizenship: pride, play and freedom at SNAP Gallery

Making Our Mark emerged thanks to an Edmonton Arts Council grant which brought together citizens with disabilities, professional SNAP artists, University of Alberta anthropology students, and Skills Society support workers. This collective met weekly in the Spring of 2014 in the SNAP print shop to share stories and make art together, exploring three central themes of citizenship: pride, play, and freedom. In June 2014 the work was shown at City Hall as part of the 2014 Works Art & Design Festival.

A great article about the project was written by Make Something Edmonton’s Chris Gusen – link here
