Emergency First Aid/CPR
To complete certification of this training it is mandatory that you attend the entire course (required by Occupational Health and Safety). It is expected that you make the necessary arrangements to attend the full amount of training.
Please treat this training as you would a regularly scheduled work shift regarding punctuality and attendance.

Medication Administration certification is valid for 3 years. All staff must maintain valid Medication Administration certification. It is your responsibility to ensure that you keep your certificate up to date.

This training is mandatory for all SKILLS employees. MANDT will be replacing Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI)
The MANDT System® is a person-centered values-based training which encourages positive interaction and healthy relationships with others. The concepts offered in The MANDT System® promote respect and dignity for all people with an emphasis on the team approach to ensure well-being and safety in both non-physical and physical interaction with others.

ASIST: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
Suicide affects us all! More than 3,500 Canadians kill themselves each year! Anyone can be at risk but suicide can be prevented through the actions of prepared caregivers. Just as “CPR” skills makes physical first aid possible, training in suicide intervention develops the skills used in suicide first aid. ASIST is a two-day interactive and practice-dominated course designed to help caregivers recognize risk and learn how to intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. ASIST also meets the guidelines for the Alberta Association of Services and Families.
(Your full attendance for both days of training is required)

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Presented by: Anita Watts
You will learn how to help adults who are showing signs of mental health concerns or who are experiencing a mental health crisis. This is an interactive course that is provided in a learning, supportive group environment. Practical skills are taught using a five-step model that is easy to remember and apply in real life situations.
